ADDITION TO BUILDING 7111 SERVICE PIER

CLIENT: EFA NW, ROICC Office

LOCATION: Naval Base Kitsap at Bangor, WA

TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION: 3 Structures: Combination Structural Steel Framing with CMU and One Pre-Engineered Metal Building

This $31M project was a Joint Venture between WPC and General Construction Company, with each performing work in their area of expertise (building construction and marine construction, respectively).

Construction of Building 7114, located on the Waterfront Support Facility Pier, consisted of a steel framed, metal clad building with metal roof. The building includes a high-bay industrial working area and a two-story office and mechanical shops & supplies area. The addition to Building 7111 consisted of a 171’ x 71 foot steel framed building addition with CMU exterior walls and flat roof. Features of the building included a high-bay working area supported by a 30-ton overhead crane, a large freight door, an indoor pool, and three stories of office space. Building 7115 is a pre-engineered metal building with a 16’ x 22’ door on each end.

This project received an AGC “Build Washington” Award for excellence in construction.

“In this project, the contractor exhibited extraordinary effort that benefited the Government no doubt in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. While the overall performance rating was Above Average, they performed just shy of Outstanding. Truly a best value contractor.”
