COMPLETED PROJECTS

HEALTHCARE/RESEARCH

Madigan Army Medical Center
Fort Lewis, Washington

The remodel and renovation of this state-of-the-art, nine-story hospital encompassed 2.5 million square feet of building space and took place in over 1,200 rooms or locations. The attention to detail by WPC's craftsmen ensured that completed work blended harmoniously with the existing interior surroundings.

Superior performance on this project by WPC was recognized with an Excellence in Construction Award from the Associated General Contractors of Washington, as well as an “Outstanding” Contractor Performance evaluation from the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Facility
Fort Lewis, Washington

The Madigan Army Medical Center MRI Facility is a 12,000 square foot stand-alone building adjacent to the main hospital. The project required extensive mechanical and electrical coordination with the master plan of the medical center. The facility was constructed with a movable panel to allow for the removal and replacement of the magnet.

Olympic Radiology
Bremerton, Washington

When the owners of Olympic Radiology needed a new facility, they came back to WPC, who had successfully built their Northwest Diagnostics building in 1992. This 9,800-square-foot medical facility houses MRI, CAT-Scan, and X-ray equipment. The time-sensitive construction schedule was fast-tracked, and the facility was ready for occupancy in just 155 calendar days.

Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine
Fort Lewis, Washington

This design/build project is a $3.3 million, 17,000 square foot single-story laboratory facility. The building houses an organization that provides health services for military units in a 22-state area. The structure is steel framed with exterior walls consisting of both split faced and fluted block masonry, and metal roofing. The facility includes two main laboratories where disease research is conducted, and two insectaries where specimens are stored under very precise temperature and humidity conditions.

The moisture-resistant rooms for insect research are required to support a constant temperature of 95 degrees with 100% humidity; therefore, great importance was placed on the unique HVAC system to endure complete isolation of these sensitive rooms.
